Between Land & Water (DVD)
Life stories of Connecticut's Amphibians
Between Land and Water combines video of local Connecticut wildlife never before available with fascinating views into the worlds of native frogs and salamanders. Filmed and narrated by naturalist Brian Kleinman and taped entirely in Connecticut, Between Land and Water shows the life cycles of native amphibians over an annual season. Beginning with the thawing of vernal pools in spring, this DVD follows local frogs and salamanders to show key aspects of amphibian life cycles such as spring migrations, calls and mating seasons, and developmental phases from larval forms to metamorphs to adults. Between Land and Water brings to life aspects of vernal pool, stream and woodland habitats upon which amphibians rely, as well as the animals' roles in local ecosystems.
